Name: Phonte Class: Druid Race: Tauren Level: 80 Email:anubis_1001 at hotmail.com Have you read the sticky on the forum titled 'Applicants, Read Before You Apply?' Yes
What is your current age (Suggested minimum age is 18)? 28
What is your total played time on this character (type /played)? 34 Days
Do you have ventrillo and the ability to talk? Yes
What role and spec do you want to fill with Requiem's raids? Presently Feral in both Main/Secondary Spec. Primary being Feral DPS with Tanking as secondary.
What is your character's guild history and the reason for leaving prior guilds? Mostly Harmless/Requiem (Elzhi - Warlock) Left for a number of reasons, one being my previous work schedule didn't allow for raiding much at all.
Scabbed Wing (Ysondre - Current Server) - Joined as there are real life friends there. Still active at this time.
If a Requiem member has asked you to submit this application, tell us who? N/A
Any friends in Requiem? Many from when I left a number of months ago. Not sure who is still around.
What made you decide to apply to Requiem at this time? Present work schedule allows for a higher raid attendance than before. Noticed that you were in need of a Feral druid.
What kind of raid experience do you have? Vanilla, TBC, or Wrath; list all that you think are applicable. Raided with Requiem in a 25 man setting up until Naxx. Left Drenden at that time. Continued with Ulduar/TOC 10 man. No 25 man experience with Ulduar/TOC. Hard Modes on TOC, though only 1/5 bosses.
Our raid schedule is Tuesday and Thursday 10-1 and Sunday 9-1, can you make a minimum of 75% of these raids? Yes.
Post a recent WWS (or equivalent) from a raid you participated in. Feel free to explain any mitigating circumstances on the log (lack of buffs/blessings/etc...) Present guild does not use WWS.
What is one thing you are currently working on to make you perform better in a raid environment? (Gear is something EVERYONE is working on, please do not say you need gear) I have very recently made the switch to Feral from Balance/Resto. I am presently working on understanding the mechanics behind feral DPS, and it's rotation. Using RAWR a lot to help with this, as well as Feral by Night as a guide for rotation.
Are you a douchebag? If yes, please hold the alt key and hit F4 for a 'special' message before completing this application. Some might argue yes....
If asked to respond to this application you will need to create an account on this website with your applying character's name and request that account to be authorized with the rank of applicant, do you understand this process (we've had some issues)? Yes.
Tell us about yourself? If you happen to be a faction transfer this would be the place to elaborate. You all know me already, nothing has changed except I got married and have a kid on the way.
Not an officer but I think I am the only raiding Feral DPS/Tank in the guild other than alts, your gear is pretty low to jump into current content, Lack of epic gems, expertise and hit are on spot.
You are lucky in the fact that a lot of your upgrades can come from straight Conquest badges. If you are looking to raid my recommendation is to bust out a ton of heroics and start getting that gear. If DPS is your main spec I would first get the Conq Head/Chest and get the 2 piece proc as its pretty nasty for cats. Get the Badge belt, the badge shoulders, and get rid of that str/stam ring for something with agi. Your DPS spec is good but I would take the point from Survival instincts and put in it Improved LotP, and on your Tank spec I recommend taking the 3 points out of infected wounds and putting them in Imp Mangle. Almost all bosses are not affected by Inf Wounds and Mangle is a HUGE source of Threat.
Your gear is low but that's fixable. I joined back in pretty low gear too, I was a bit further along but I busted my nuts in heroics and low end raids to get all the badge gear so I could get in 10/25 mans and finally got raider status.
But this completely IMO and officers may say something different. Also I should add that I joined as Feral Tank as my main spec but switched to DPS recently, I would recommend you do the same for the time being as being a tank and finding heroics is easier that being DPS. Get yourself a pocket healer and go to town.

People use different ways to cope, I use sex and awesomeness. I'm kind of a Big Deal
So if I understand Steakbomb's comments they are gear related, fair enough. I didn't put in gear improvements as it stated in the app that gear improvements are a give in. I am already saving badges upon badges for the items you mentioned. As for epic gems, on my current server they are out of control expensive and couldn't justify putting them in something I knew was going to be replaced asap. None of these things are BiS as you know.
Wait for an officer/GM to comment on your app. This guy's raided I believe twice with us since he came back to the game and isn't exactly an expert.
I know my class very well, Look up raiding specs and druid stuff Sanar and you will see that I am correct in what I said. When it comes to Feral druids, I know what I'm talking about. And when I said that I'm the only feral raider I meant that as so he could look at my armory but you must be right, you are infact a woman.

One can only take personal attacks for so long. I am not the first one that isn't an officer to post on an app with suggestions but because I'm a new raider I shouldn't be listened to? Guaranteed if you ask any feral druid their opinion on this app, they would have said the same thing. I wasn't saying he doesn't deserve a spot in the guild just stating my personal suggestions as many people do on apps.

Apps are put up so members can give constructive criticism and provide the applicant some feedback as well as pointing out possible upgrades in gear as well as spec. If members already in the guild want to post with attitudes and take shots at each other we can just as easily move apps to be viewed by officers only and make it simple. If you don't have anything positive or more to the point relevant to say, don't fucking post.

That was what I intended with my original post

The reason that that ferals don't spec infected wounds for pve is that the same attack speed slowing debuff is almost always already accounted for, not because bosses are immune to it. All tank classes can supply it and at a much lesser cost.
As far as your cat spec there are some things I'd personally change. I'd completely ditch feral aggression as you will rarely have the chance to weave ferocious bites into your rotation while maintaining everything else, especially in any fight with movement or target switching (most of them). Also SI is a tanking talent with few uses as a cat (granted if used intelligently it could be a life saver, literally). Feral instinct is an easy to overlook talent for cats but it's actually very strong. Cat swipe is almost as OP as FoK was but never got hit with the nerf stick. Of course knowing how and when to use it properly separates the best ferals from the good ones. I'd probably toss the rest of your points into imp lotp and furor but you have a bit of flexibility. Your role and play style of course dictate what spec is best for you but what I mentioned above is probably ideal for the content we're currently running.
As you've probably noticed Unholy's our newest feral and as it stands now we have a very hard time even getting him into raids. At your gear level you'd be a liability on hard modes since you simply wouldn't be able to put up the required numbers even with perfect execution. Of course gear is an easy fix but in order to get said gear there must be an open spot in the raid to get you in. As of this second those raid spots are not easy to come by, some nights we have to sit five, on other nights more, and the people who get sat have put in time with us and are already geared to our level of content. Having raided with you in the past I know you can be a pretty solid player but right now we have 35+ very solid players. We'll have to discuss if we can possibly make room on the raid team and get back to you.

That's a rotation thing. I have my spec in Feral Aggression and I like it. If you have the Glyph of Shred your shred adds 2 seconds to your Rake ability up to 6 seconds, If you have 20 seconds of SR left and 9 seconds of Rake still and 5 CP's, FB is great. On beasts last week I used it and didn't lose my DoT's because of it. Its really good to use on a fights like beasts on the Worms right before they go under and your DoT's get removed anyway and you can get some nasty FB crits, I get anywhere from 18-20k crits if SR is up(which it should be). Also, if on some fights like Faction Champs where the first couple adds die so quick its sometimes for beneficial to get a FB in than try and get a rake in that might tick once or twice, don't get me wrong though, I do use Rake in the start on each mob but if the mob is low on HP I FB instead to get that quick burst to bring the mob down quicker.
TBH, there are a lot of opinions on rotation about feral DPS but the majority of it is the same.

Your dots do not get removed when the worms submerge. That's why the worms target people with long dots when they emerge (i.e. warlocks or shadow priests) as their threat table resets and dots are still ticking.

SKILL > GEAR, But those with skill will be smart enough to have gear.
As of right now I don't think it would be a good idea to accept your app as you'd basically be sitting most of the time due to a pretty full raid roster. While we all know you're a good player it just wouldn't be fair to you or any of our current raiders to take you right now for a lot of the reasons rain mentioned. Keep in touch and if a spot opens up we'll be sure to let you know.
